Our aim is to create a work that slows us down, captures our attention and enables moments of intense experience. Instead of flooding and haste, we invite you to lose yourself for hours in a constantly changing visual language – a moment of calm in the midst of sensory overload.
Concept
With our work, we question the fundamental principles of creating art. Can a machine create a work of art? What happens when every aspect of the creative process is automated?
The “Infinite Artist” uses artificial intelligence to develop themes, choose visual styles and create smooth transitions between artworks. What initially appears to be a purely technological process is a radical discourse on what constitutes art in today’s world – and who is allowed to create it.
Process
The “Infinite Artist” is based on a self-controlling system. An AI generates the themes, styles and color spectrums from simple keywords.
This data is then passed on to an image-generating AI, which creates works of art that merge seamlessly into one another.
Morpheus questions the limits of artistic autonomy by having the “Infinite Artist” imitate the creative process of an artist – perfect, but never truly genuine.
